Hostal Marcos in La Linea is fine. I've stayed there twice. Around 30 Euros for a simple, clean, en-suite room. May be less in out-of-season November. There's a good restuarant downstairs, but you don't have to eat there.. There are loads of good eating places in the same street and thereabouts, and some are open well into the early hours. The Liverpool Pub is just round the corner (40 paces door-to-door),frequented mostly by Brits living/working in Gibralta or La Linea, but there's usually a few locals drinking there as well. It was one of those who told me about Marcos, when I was asking where to stay. I went round and booked a room at the desk,no prob, then came back to finish my pint. Easy. It was so convenient and pleasant I stayed there again on my next trip. La Linea is much cheaper than Gib and you can walk from Hostal Marcos to the Gibralta Gate in a few minutes. There are some really good places to visit on Gib. The Botanical Gardens are nice, and the fortifications are really impressive. I havn't been on the cable car yet. Both visits it was closed through bad weather. I'm thinking of applying for a job as a Rain God. It even rained in San Pedro de Atacama when I was there. First rain they had in February 60 years! But Gib is hellish expensive.(£8 for an omelette and chips!!!) La Linea is a lot cheaper and is well worth exploring. There are some pleasant plazas and parks, and the night-life is fine. You get a great view of The Rock lit up at night, which you won't get if you're on it. Also,if you stay in La Linea you can bring out the duty-free's two days running, and you'll have somewhere outside of Gib to keep it. The link below is the Andalucia Tourist Board site, and is the standard resource for anything in the area, travel, accomodation, what's on etc. I wish all sites were this good! Click on 'Andalucia Accommodation' and you'll find a search button (top left). Just put La Linea or whatever else you want. A good booking site for rooms worldwide is hostelbookers.com . Hotel Miramar in La Linea is listed with them. They don't have single rooms, but it's a good place, quite reasonable rates, and only about 200 yards away from Hostal Marcos.Worth looking at. The link takes you straight to the booking site. Have a great trip.

Hi I am a Gibraltarian and have always lived in Gibraltar. Accomodation in Spain is more reasonable, I would sugget that you could look for accomodation in ALCAIDESA this is just on the outskirts of La Linea, our neibouring town. I can give you an email address which at the moment I dont have with me its in my car this address is from a lady who rents out apartments/flats there. I actually go and stay there from the month of June till September and come in to Gibraltar to work everyday as it only takes 15 mins by car. As soon as I have the address I shall sent it to you. You can also try the Bristol Hotel in Gibraltar its one of the cheapest one we have here. Apart from Morrisons, BHS and Marks and Spencers we also have Peacocks, Wallis, Adams, Topshop and a few more.

Yeah Spain is cheaper but not necessarily better.
If you're not driving then you'll find hotels in La Linea, if you are driving you might want to go up the Eastern coast a little.
If you are only there for a couple of days then why not go somewhere posh like the Caleta Palace. It's got it's own pools and has cracking views of the Med. Or if you want something more central go to somewhere near Alameda Gardens like the Queens hotel.

La Linea is the Spanish town across the border and cheapish accomodation is available there. Just enter La Linea in the search engine and choose a hotel from there.
Gibraltar isn't a great place, wouldn't go again. Even though it has a Morrisons, BHS and M & S.

Did you check the moderate resorts? Your trip is during the free dining promotion. If you book a package at WDW you receive the dining plan for free. You would more than likely save money booking a moderate with free dining over booking off site. Also remember that since the resorts are nearly full, the parks will be too. It would be to your advantage to sta on site and take advantage of the extra magic hours.
