I think you might like the lovely little town of L'Escala on the Costa Brava and near to the border with France. It's small population increases in the summer season because of it's beaches & surrounding area but it remains a nice quiet resort at night.

For something a little larger, but not much, you might like Pineda de Mar, on the Costa del Maresme. It has a good beach, enough bars & restaurants to have a choice but is very quiet with little or no nightlife. For a change you could always visit Calella next door, which is the opposite to Pineda de Mar and a much larger resort.

Both of these resorts can be reached from Girona airport and Pineda is well connected to Barcelona, particularly by train.

Madrid is just a interesting town with hundreds of theatre reveals, opera, dancing and countless other types of nightlife and if you wish to learn after that it this is actually the place hotelbye . In Madrid you will also find probably the most exciting places to get a evening to keep in mind and can be the new home of Flamenco because Madrid is living with audio and passion. The many gorgeous parks and gardens provide tranquil locations and places like: Royal Palace, Royal Theater, Almudena Cathedral, Plaza Mayor Square, Prado Museum, Queen Sofía Museum, Gran Vía Avenue and Puerta del Sol tells you why you select this town for your vacation.

Definitely Holland! It's such a beautiful, scenic place. There are hardly any clubs and it's quite cheap. Everyone is really friendly... apart from a few racist oldies. But yeah, nice place if you go to the more rural areas.

Pompal is correct, the North Costa Brava is surprisingly unspoilt.

You could also try the west coast of Mallorca

Or the deep South. Say Chipiona.

There are , of course, loads of non seaside places such as the Montseny, North of Barcelona, or the Sierras just inland from the Costa del Sol.

There is a small place about 80 minutes east of Málaga airport called "Marina Del Este", which is on the Costa Tropical. It is quite exclusive, but it is in the most beautiful setting and there is a good beach and not too busy, provided you don't go in August. If you go anywhere in Spain in August it will be busy.

It is my favourite place in Spain to go for lunch. The ambience is second to none.

- Spain is a big country with a lot to offer so you need to help us narrow it down a bit for you.

Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela, Madrid (you can perfectly avoid night life there), Barcelona....

No night life in Spain? Try the cemetery.

Try Ronda. Nice, historic, romantic, beautiful city, pretty far from the "madding crowds".

totally NOT a beach town.
